Born in 1993, Portuguese Lyric Mezzo Soprano Maria Ermida graduated from the Singing Course of the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional in Lisbon, in 2018. There she had the opportunity to study in the class of professor Larissa Savchenko and was a part of the choir Musaico. In 2019 Maria participated in the first edition of Setúbal Cantofest where she had the opportunity to learn from several renowned vocal coaches such as Olga Makarina  and Vlad Iftinka from the Metropolitan Opera. At the moment she is working regularly with Lyric Soprano Inês Simões and Vocal Coach Katia Borissova from the Salzburg Mozarteum. 

In 2019 she premiered and toured the portuguese adaptation of Tiago Cutileiro's Opera Tudo Nunca Sempre, O Mesmo Diferente Nada. In that same year she also colaborated as a soloist with Jovem Orquestra Portuguesa in its production of J.S. Bach's Actus Tragicus BWV 106.

In 2020 she was invited to be a part of the online Setúbal Cantofest in a series of online concerts promoted by the festival. In addition she participated in the 'Masterclass 2 em 1' taught by Soprano Bárbara Barradas and Mezzo Soprano Cátia Moreso as well as a masterclass with Olga Makarina from the Metropolitan Opera. 

In 2021 she was a semifinalist in the Prémio José Augusto Alegria.
